$160 is a fuck lot considering there is no PA system, its outdoors, and the stage is set to collapse at any moment!!!! We gotta work with what we have. I don't really mean half the shit that Im saying tonight.

I bet if I were to start a cover band from an late 80s or early 90s hardcore band... and claim it to be original... 90% of Laredo kids would believe it to be original

Here are my 2 cents being that I rarely post. Ive been playing in bands since high school around '95 when we started out at Sals. Back then there wasnt any hardcore bands here except for Death Metal bands. I love Death, Black, Speed,Doom, etc...I like all genres of metal except for Emo and Metalcore(I have my reasons) BUT no other genre portrays or relays a message like Hardcore. The first Hardcore bands I heard were Judge,Strife,Agnostic Front,Sick of it all, etc. I still remember when Full Contact was a brand new deal and everyone got into it...that was really cool and awesome but slowly that crowd started to thin out and what we were left with is the guys that are still here. Thats what counts to me....the people that have stuck around and not taking it like a novelty and jumping on the bandwagon music flavor of the day. Fast forward to the present and we still have the same thing happening....bunch of kids hanging out because their friends hangout and its the place to be, yet the true people that have been there since day one are still here. These new trendy genres will die out soon and the crowd will dissappear and we will have the next batch of high schoolers hanging out and the process repeats. To me the only real problem is a proper and suitable venue. 160 bux for the "time out" is too much for the reasons stated above by another poster. I think they need us more than we need them. I know for a fact that theres a select few amount of people that wont let the Hardcore scene die. Since its inception it hasnt died out...sure it has had its slow moments but for it to completely cease is almost impossible. Just ride these waves of turmoil and we will land on sands of Hardcore bliss. With that said...help us(Full Contact) find a venue for March 17 ST PATTYS DAY for our split cd release.
