I was completely blown away at this show.
ofcourse, ignoring all the false-metal bands that played.... this show was seriously so intense. There were so many notable hardcore peeps there...
funny watching Rick Ta Life roll up uninvited and start selling like 20 boxes worth of 25taLife Merch in the parking lot. oh, they also ended up playing right before ExC, unannounced, I guess, since they were all there anyway. straaaaaange.
so yeah.... Shipwreck, Down To Nothing, and Have Heart are definitely better live shows with a crowded room full of sing-a-longs and stage dives. I had so many people jump off my back during Have Heart... it was just nuts!
and Earth Crisis... man, if the show they put on this Saturday is anything like how they were in their hey-day... then I envy everyone that got to see them more than once.
From start to finish, their set was just full of energy... and their best songs were probably Gomorrah's Season Ends and Firestorm... which I could've sworn about 4/5th of the people in the entire room (which was a total of about 900+ people)... were singing a long. I could see fists being raised all the way to the back of the room (imagine a room twice the size of the Sal's show room). There were real pits during their set... none of those horse shoe pits that you usually see at HxC shows... I'm talking scattered pits all throughout the show room.
I'll make a shitty comparison (which Im not proud of, but oh well)... but there was seriously so much more energy at this reunion than what I saw at the GB reunion in Austin.
If Earth Crisis happens to tour sometime... make it a point to see them... you will not regret it.
