Here's a recipe for pad thai, which is a Thai noodle stir fry dish.
Make a sauce from: soy sauce teriyaki sauce water peanut butter (very little) ketchup ginger coconut milk
you can add other stuff, but those are the main things. You'll have to experiment with it to taste, cause I don't have my own recipe written down, i just have shit memorized when pouring everything. it shouldn't be more than like a cup of sauce for a skillet with a few servings.
Mix all that and set it aside.
Bring some water to boil and place in a handful of some thai rice noodles (they sell em at HEB, they're like clear, long, flat noodles, sometimes advertized as Rice Sticks, but not the stringy ones. the flat ones.) Remove from heat after putting in the noodles and let em soak for about 5 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water for about 30 seconds.
Fry tofu and veggies like the normal strifry, but hold the sauces. After you've fried the tofu and veggies, add the noodles to it, and stirfry em for a minute of so, and then add in the sauce you made, and let it boil and evaporate while stirring occasionally. once it's not so wet, it's pretty much done. you can add some crushed peanuts and some of that sweet red chili sauce that i mentioned in my other post cause it just rules, a lot. hah.

Sounds good, I would like to try being vegan, but it just sounds like you need real good self discipline. I wouldn't be able to handle not eat meat or dairy products.

JJ, your the best dude. Seriously.
I definitely have to try that out for myself.
EDIT: Going back to what Ponce said, I would try being a vegetarian and I've been thinking about it. However, it's a really big commitment. I'll end up trying it out and see how I feel about it. I think it's kind of in our culture to eat meat. Although, I don't like to support something that involves the inhuman treatment of animals.(Though, I will admit. I've shot a deer or two in my life.) However, I also thought of something my friend said, "If I was an animal and I was killed so there would be food on your plate and you didn't eat me, I'd be pretty pissed off."
So I don't really know, I totally support Veganism and Vegetarians and the like. I just not totally sure about it myself. We'll see.

its not hard at all... I get cravings from time to time and I dont think it takes any huge kind of discipline, or sacrifice to not eat what you dont want to. I try not to glorify veganism as some HUGE commitment, or sacrifice... you either choose to eat something or you don't.
if you're really curious about the inhumanity of meat eating, then try to change your perspective of how you look at animals... what you were told about animals... since you're young, you're told that animals exist to become food, and if you can come to understand that humanity has reached a point where it is not necessary (nor healthy) to eat animals, then you should be able to truly convince yourself that you just don't have to eat meat.
if you don't agree with the moral ideology about veganism... then don't hurt yourself trying. some people agree with it, some people don't.
but don't think and say that its hard... unless you truly believe in what you're doing.

So I don't really know, I totally support Veganism and Vegetarians and the like. I just not totally sure about it myself. We'll see. What your friend said only applies if the animal were killed in the wild, while it was free roaming, and it were killed, IMO, using more primitive methods. Most meat that's on people's plates is not obtained in that scenario, it's brought about through the use of factory farms which not only inhumanely slaughter animals, but it also inflicts a great deal of damage to our planet's ecosystem. Factory farming is not natural, nor would eating meat that was obtained in such a manner, so the "eating meat is natural. we're meant to do it" argument goes out the window. Sorry, I've started to rant, but you get the idea. Oh, and if you did go veg, that meat would not be ending up on your plate, so the animal wouldn't be getting pissed off. Hell, that animal that would've been on your plate may still be out there roaming because of your choice.

yea dude, thats why this is the second year doing it in lent. You know 40 days and 40 nights blah blah blah, last year was awesome, but I was only vegan for like a week then the rest I had to go veg. I was starving because I couldn't eat bread and I ran out of bagels.
If I dont stock up on food this weekend when I go to El Paso this is was I'm gonna do: No animal product foods, and milk and eggs only in bread
ALSO, I lost 10kg last year, and I'm pretty sure this year I'm gonna lose more since I went edge, and started going to the gym. Healthy lifestyles rule

yeah, i was just kidding. i stay as far from fast food as i can. like alex said, it really isn't hard being vegan/vegetarian. ofcoarse you get cravings because not only are you used to eating this way since you were a youngen, you are being bombarded with ads and commercials and everything trying to make you eat. seriously, it doesn't take a HUGE commitment or sacrifice, it's tough, but not as tough as you might think it is. you just have to be able to acknowledge and actually comprehend why a vegan would toss out animal product completely. i'm vegetarian, but only because i'm lazy. veganism would be so easy if only i left those flamin' hot cheetos, haha.

hey JJ what kind of tofu do I use? I have Firm and Extra firm It depends on the texture you wanna get from it. If you want a more "meaty" texture, go with extra firm.

wow. I used firm , it was pretty fucking delicious even though I fucked up nah, well firm would work, too. Soft would be used for making like dips or sauces, medium for pastes, or stuff that's a bit thicker, firm and extra firm for meaty type shit, and it'd depend on your taste. Here they only sell soft medium and hard, so i just use hard.
